You should definitely bring the kids to this fun event, either Sat. or Sun. 10am-4pm. It's FREE. Self-guided Grounds Tours, feed the chickens, a NOON demo on wood-splitting, displays about Secret Rock Writing and Small Tellis Making.
Browse the gallery/giftshop, take a look in the open Art Studio. Children, with a parents help, get to plant a starter- plant (free) to take home to nurture with their parent!
Artful Arrangements will be there, offering (at no charge) Parallel Family Play - Homestead Coloring! Parents, sit side-by-side with your children and enter the free coloring contest: plant, chicken or barn, child's and adult's versions. Lots of fun. Entry to fairgrounds is $5, gates open at 5pm, fireworks at dark.
What a great time. The weather was perfect. Children everywhere, and smiles galore, especially on the big green tractor! Thank you, everyone for attending and making it a great 2nd annual Down Home Day.
Sunday Nov. 22nd at 2pm. Tour the grounds, walk through The Portal of Time, then count blessings in The Gardens over libations and music. Children plant stone roses for free to keep. Bring snacks to share, donations accepted, libations included. Please call to register, 707-664-8656. A new family tradition for the month of November, as fun as pumpkins in October, and Christmas trees in December. Dress in layers, please be prompt. See you then!

Don't miss this centennial event celebrating the 100 year milestone for the Artful Arrangements Homestead! From 10am to 5:30pm. Also featured: 1) the unveiling of The Portal of Time, a 10' high, round work of art representing the passage of time (from the past, into the future), installed on the Tour route, and 2) the premiere of the Homestead Amphitheater, presenting two bands, HotGrubb and the Spyralites. And let's not forget to mention our fair fare - delicious, wholesome Homesteader's Stew, green salad and corn bread. And contests and games, and much, much more.

Sonoma County Farm Trails was formed in 1973, as a way for ag producers to formally, and legally, invite the public to come to their property to purchase the "fruits of their labors" and see where the products were grown, produced, processed, or propagated. Originally, artist and crafters were included on the trail.
Visit the Sonoma County countryside this fall on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27th and 28th. Artful Arrangements is participating both days, opening the old homestead to the public free of charge: Tours will be at 10am and 2pm, and Demos on Trellis Making and Secret Rock Writing will be at 11am and 3pm.Ongoing, will be displays about School Field Trips and the Classroom/School Fundraising Plan, the Parent/Child Team Activities and the Creativity Retreats. The push to let school PTA's know about our educational, fun and simple poetry fundraising plan is on. Faxes and letters have gone out to the grade schools. The 13 Tiny Ticklers are wholesome. The kids learn about poetry, and parents, relatives, and neighbors can
participate from $2 to $20. Let your child's school know about it!
